Daniel Temkin – glitch artist / programmer extraordinaire – just released a new glitch program for the Commodore 64 (C64). YEEP!EEP!EEP! v0.1 (YEEP) creates visualizations of whatever data happens to be stored in RAM at a given moment. The results are somewhat similar to Don Miller’s glitchNES.

More examples of YEEP’s output reside on Temkin’s Flickr page.
For those who don’t remember the ’80s (drugs, not yet born, etc.) and aren’t up to speed on retro electronics, the Commodore 64 was a home computer first released in the early ’80s. Tons of these systems were produced, so it’s relatively easy to get your hands on in spite of its age (according to wikipedia, 30 million units were produced in about a decade). If you don’t have space for more hardware, you can also run YEEP in a C64 emulator.
